Post Budget Analysis by Mr. Shrish Mudgal (Business Standard)

MBA students invited Mr Shrish Mudgal (Regional head, Marketing Development, Business Standard) for post budget analysis and discussion.

He enlightened the students about the budget which was passed by the Finance Minister on 29^th February 2016. He interacted with students and highlighted the points that what budget is and what are its effects on the lives of the people. He highlighted that budget focused on three areas that is Agriculture, manufacturing and social development. While responding to query by a student, he emphasis the role of govt. schemes like MNREGA in social development and inclusive growth. He appreciated the steps taken by the Finance Minister to attract foreign companies for setting up industry in India. He explained the importance of increasing service tax in line with upcoming GST.

The students found lecture to be very interesting and knowledgeable.

Ad Designing Contest

Anubhav – the CBM Club , DAV University organized advertisement designing contest on 5th November in the campus. 15 teams from various departments participated in the event. Mr. Parminder Sandhu, Managing Director, Nextcare India, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr. Naresh Sehajpal (Dean Academics) and Dr K.N. Kaul (Registrar) welcomed the chief guest by presenting a bouquet of flowers.
Harivansh and Kunika from organizing team of Anubhav – the CBM Club, welcomed the guests and participants. Student teams presented very innovative and creative advertisements of the allotted topic. Judges adjudged the participants’ advertisements on the basis of freshness of Idea, creative execution, relevance for target audience and overall impact of the advertisement. Karanvir, MBA final year student thanked Dr. Girish Taneja, Associate Professor, for providing such a platform to the students for showcasing their talent. Neha and Richa of MBA final year shared that they understood the importance of co-ordination and teamwork through this event.
MBA Final Year team (Karanvir, Rupinderjit Singh, Vikram and Praveen) was adjudged the best team whereas B. Tech team (Hanu Gandhi, Pandav Rao and Amees) stood second. MBA first year students Manvir Kaur, Parul, Gurleen and Parika (B.Com-II)) won the third position in the competition. Dr. Sandeep Vij, Coordinator of Commerce and Business Management Department thanked the judges and participants for devoting their time and effort.
